Life at Battle Primary Academy

Welcome to Battle Primary Academy

Battle Primary Academy has a fascinating history here in the heart of West Reading, which is a vibrant, multi-cultural community.

The Primary School has a proud history, which includes playing a key role as a hospital during both the First and Second World Wars, the school has also featured in a film 'Let Him Have It' (1991).

The Academy is larger than the average-sized primary school with 442 pupils. The proportion of pupils from minority ethnic groups and those who speak English as an additional language is also much higher than average.

Battle Primary School was placed in Special Measures in March 2012. Following that judgment, an Interim Executive Board was established, and one of their first actions was a vote to become an academy.

The governors chose NET Academies Trust to be their Sponsor. The NET Academies Trust works with primary schools to achieve rapid improvement and help them offer something special to the children and young people in their communities.

Going forward, NET and Battle Primary Academy believe that schools are equally about academic attainment, as about developing confident 21st century citizens ready to take on the world. The experienced Trustees and excellent governing body are determined to create a distinguished Academy which offers our children the very best education.
